Chateaubriant, France: Al Wakrah (FR) (Al Wukair x Al Thakhira), a 2-year-old filly who represents the Al Shaqab Racing silk, opened her scorecard on her second racecourse start by winning the Prix de Choisel, a maiden over 1.100 metres for 2-year-olds at Chateaubriant, France yesterday.
Ridden by Jordan Plateaux, the Simone Brogi-trained filly broke well from the starting gate at Chateaubriant and was in a mid-position. Round the first bend, she got closer to the three runners in the front. She improved more at the final bend and accelerated well at the beginning of the home straight. In the final furlong, she kicked clear to take the lead and win by a length.
