NGOs release new report on the ‘invisible’ mental health emergency for asylum seekers on Samos Format To mark World Health Day, NGOs have released a new report examining the impact of reception conditions on the mental health of asylum seekers living on Samos island, Greece. The report, titled ‘Mental health in Samos: the invisible emergency’, argues that asylum seekers face compounded mental health threats arising from how a lack of basic necessities, social exclusion, the Covid-19 pandemic and long asylum procedures impact on the already inherent challenges of displacement.
