A team of Inspectors under Supervision of Deputy Director Supplies, Narinder Kour and Assistant Director Enforcement Jammu, Shohab Latief, checked more than 50 establishments in areas of NewPlot, Janipur, Bantalab. Shopkeepers, including Sellers of Milk Products, Poultry and Meat Sellers, Vegetable Vendors were sensitized about various rules and regulations. They were instructed to display the Rate List and sell the commodities on the rates fixed by the Department/Associations. Owners of Food Joints and Restaurants were instructed to use only commercial LPG cylinders. People belonging to the area were also advised to approach the Department in case of any complaint. Similar Market Checks were also conducted in all Districts of Jammu Division by concerned Assistant Directors.

Jammu: Concerned over brewing Rohingya refugee crisis, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) representatives, today came down rushing to Jammu, to meet RohangiyaMuslims to have an assessment of the situation on the ground.
Four member team of UNHCR representatives led by one Kiri Attri External Relation Officer visited KiryaniTalab and adjoining areas of Bathindi in Jammu outskirts. The said team interacted with some of the Rohingyas and inquired about their wellbeing. Besides this, the representatives of UNHCR also met the chairman of one of the local NGO - Save the Children - located at KiryaniTalab, Bathindi.
Srinagar: Taking cognizance of the applicants’ grievances during the 5th round of “LG’s Mulqaat- Live Public Grievance Hearing”, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today directed for with-holding the salary of Director Social Welfare Kashmir for delaying the release of the pending salary of teachers working in a special school.
Expressing his dismay over the matter, the Lt Governor directed for expediting the process of releasing salaries in favour of affected teachers.
On being apprised by an applicant from Kulgam about the issue of raising surcharge in his electricity bills without delivering the same to the consumer, the Lt Governor directed KPDCL for deducting the undue surcharge from the salary of the concerned officials.

JAMMU, Feb 25: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today called upon the Government officers to ensure prompt redressal of grievances raised by the people and initiate action against those who don’t fall in line even as he ordered withholding of the salary of Director Social Welfare Department (SWD) Kashmir and inquiry into unnecessary delay made by Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank in granting loan to an applicant.
