Alta Capital has acquired Goldman Sachs and Warburg Pincus stake in India s largest student housing platform, Good Host Spaces, for $320 million. Alta Capital has previously invested in India s largest managed office spaces operator, Table Space, and Pragati Warehousing. Good Host Spaces, which partners with universities to provide specialized accommodation services to students, has an operational portfolio of around 25,000 beds across five cities and is in talks to add more.
In September 2017, Goldman Sachs picked up a significant majority stake of 75 percent in Good Host Spaces via a combination of primary and secondary transactions while private equity major Warburg Pincus purchased nearly 25 percent in April 2021 by giving an exit to HDFC Ltd.
