MATTAPOISETT Mattapoisett residents can vote today, Tuesday, July 27 in a Special Town Election to fill the Select Board seat left open by the death of John DeCosta in April. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m at Old Hammondtown School.
Two candidates, Kenneth Wilbur and Tyler Macallister are in the running for the Select Board position. The winner of the election will serve the remainder of DeCosta’s term, through the 2023 Town Election.

ROCHESTER It’s Election Day in Rochester, and the race is on.
Registered Rochester voters can vote from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Rochester Council on Aging.
There are three contested races in the election: Planning Board, Board of Health and Water Commission. But another four open positions in town government Moderator, Cemetery Commission and one of two seats on the Rochester Memorial School Committee have no candidates.
At Rochester Candidates Night on May 6, Selectman Woody Hartley encouraged residents to run for the open positions by way of write-in and “sticker” campaigns.

ROCHESTER For some contests in Rochester’s Town Election, the race is on for others, the town has had a hard time getting candidates to the starting line.
The election is on May 26 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Rochester Council on Aging. Residents can also vote early by filling out a Vote By Mail application on townofrochestermass.com/town-clerk, or by voting early in person from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on weekdays at the town clerk’s office.

MARION It’s Election Day in Marion!
Residents can vote in today’s Town Election from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center.
The five-way race for two spots on the Planning Board is the only contested election on the ballot.
Running for the two positions are incumbent Andrew Daniel, Alanna Nelson and Tom Friedman of the Energy Management Committee, former Selectman Jon Henry and lifelong resident Tucker Burr.
While Daniel is running for reelection to his position on the board, the second open position was left by the resignation of Kristen St. Don-Campbell.
