Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi, President, National House of Chiefs A Justice of the Court of Appeal, Sir Dennis Adjei has asked chiefs to strictly limit their judicial functions to matters affecting chieftaincy as defined by the Chieftaincy Act, Act 759.
The functions relate to the nomination, election, selection or installation of a person as a chief, as well as his deposition or abdication.
Justice Adjei was speaking at a workshop for members of the Judicial Committee of the National House of Chiefs in Kumasi.
He warned Chiefs not to meddle in land disputes.
The programme organized by the National House of Chiefs educated members on their judicial functions as spelt out by the Chieftaincy Act.
