Junior Khanye has revealed the Orlando Pirates player he believes has all the attributes to become the next PSL star from Daveyton.
eVutha as Daveyton is affectionately known has produced a number of great players in the PSL including Khanye, Jabu Mahlangu, Skapie Malatsi, Doctor Mampuru and Michael Nkambule.
Pirates attacking midfielder Kabelo Dlamini has also joined the ranks of players from Daveyton to play for one of the biggest clubs in South Africa and has impressed the former Kaizer Chiefs star.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder was the star of the show when he came off the bench and inspired Pirates to a 3-1 victory over Martirzburg United in the Nedbank Cup a few matches ago.
Khanye says he has decided to go the old-school way of scouting for football talent at schools.
The Daveyton-born former PSL star says he is planning to identify 20 boys he will take under his wing.
"There's a school tournament I want to start, it's just that this level three [lockdown] has disturbed me a lot," Khanye tells
KickOff.com.
"It was supposed to start on the 10th of this month, Junior Khanye School Tournament. I'm giving back, it's under Junior Khanye Foundation. The Foundation is two years old now. The school tournament is where I will be identifying 16-year-old boys for the under-18s. It's going to be a 20-man squad.
