The home of some of the most spectacular natural waves in the world will be getting what developers said is the world’s largest standing wave as part of a $100 million waterpark mega-project slated for 2022.

The $100 million project will also include the world’s largest standing surf wave. “This is like Waimea River wave on steroids that goes all day every day,” said Skip Taylor from the surf park management. “We can run the wave from knee-high to head high and it can get up to a 100-foot wide wave.” The project broke ground in October 2020 and is expected to open in early 2022.
