Stickstoffzeiger und Stickstofflieferant Brennnesseln sind eine Zeigerpflanze. Das heißt: Wo sie wachsen, gibt es viel Stickstoff im Boden. Brennnesseln selbst enthalten neben reichlich Stickstoff auch noch Kalium, Phosphor, Mangan und Eisen. Deswegen kann man sie zum Düngen nehmen. Wichtig: Es müssen Pflanzen ohne Samen sein.
