Small Town Pride News Today

MALONE — Small Town Pride celebrated Pride Month on Saturday, filling Arsenal Green Park as community members turned out to show support for and express solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community.

The ACLU of Massachusetts filed a lawsuit after local officials denied a 2024 Pride celebration because the event will include drag.

The Board of Selectmen chose to not approve the Rural Justice Network's request because of a planned drag show, prompting a civil suit.

Two of the three board members declined to support a request to hold a pride event next June, because the drag show would not be concealed in a tent.

More than dance and dazzle, Worcester Pride events aim to create a proud, safe space for the LGBTQ community.
