Former Conservative leader Erin O’Toole took a parting shot Monday at the corrosive way social media is dominating political debate in Canada, warning his fellow lawmakers that this Parliament could mark the start of a national democratic decline.
The latest survey from Abacus Data has Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives leading the Liberals by seven percentage points, while more than 80 per cent of respondents said its time for a new government in Ottawa.
“A public inquiry has never been off the table,” said Intergovernmental Affairs Minister LeBlanc as he called on opposition parties to suggest inquiry leaders.
