An English oak planted in the cemetery at the corner of Juliana and John streets was dedicated on Arbor Day as part of Bedford County’s ongoing 250th anniversary celebrations. The Pennsylvania State Police at Bedford are investigating a criminal homicide that occurred Saturday afternoon in Snake Spring Township. State police said they were called to the scene in the township’s Mile Level area, east of Bedford, just before 2 p.m. Saturday and found a Bedford man, Brian Wayne Hunter, 62, had been shot and killed.
