Theasan Pillay’s partner – Lisa Sukdev – has slammed claims that the well-known Umhlanga lawyer committed suicide. The body of 47-year-old Pillay – who was the owner of Attorneys Theasan Pillay & Associates’ – was found with stab wounds in the arm and chest in his apartment on Friday.
Pillay also allegedly left a suicide note in his office in Umhlanga shortly prior to leaving the premises on Friday morning.

DURBAN â The police in KwaZulu-Natal have confirmed that an inquest docket has been opened following the death of well-known Durban attorney, Theasen Pillay, who was found dead at an uMhlanga apartment on Friday.
KZN police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala, said the matter is under investigation by the Durban North SAPS.
Gwala said Durban North police received a complaint of a man who was found with stab wounds on Solstice Drive in uMhlanga Ridge.
âThey proceeded to the scene where a body of a 47-year-old man was found inside the bedroom with two stab wounds on the chest and on the left hand.
