Some Regina drivers can keep that loose change in their pockets for a couple more weeks.
The City of Regina announced Friday it was extending its moratorium on parking meter enforcement downtown until April 26. Anyone picking up food or merchandise from downtown shops and restaurants can park at a meter for free for up to two hours.
“Drivers who park at a meter for longer than two hours will be ticketed,” the city said in a release. “Should you need to stay downtown for longer than two hours, remember to move your car to another block, park at an off-street location or use public transit.”

Some Regina city councillors who originally supported a motion that would prevent fossil fuel companies from advertising or buying naming rights for city property have announced they re backing down.
