SC For Ed Plans Protest After Masks Made Optional In Schools

May 14, 2021 (Columbia, SC)   Some South Carolina teachers are planning a protest after Governor McMaster issued an executive order making masks optional in schools.  SC for Ed is planning the demonstration on May 17th at the state House, the South Carolina Department of Education, and the Governor s Mansion.  The South Carolina Education Association says the action comes as teachers feel undervalued.  The organization is encouraging teachers to take a personal day if they plan to protest.
