Hopkinsville police arrested a man for strangulation and assault following an investigation Sunday night on Country Club Lane.
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of Country Club a few minutes after 6 p.m. and a 43-year old woman said her boyfriend, 47-year old Sonny Hallenbeck of Hopkinsville, had strangled her by putting his forearm across the bottom of her throat.
The victim had red bruising on her throat, according to the report, which says Hallenbeck also had cuts to his nose and shoulder.
Hallenback reportedly admitted to drinking prior to the altercation and admitted to throwing a liquor bottle that was shattered on the floor.
