Vendors and dealers should call to reserve their car’s spot in advance. Early car registration costs $12, while registering at the gate costs $15. The event is free to the viewing public. Concessions like BBQ, hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase. Door prizes are also offered. All proceeds from the event benefit Blue Ridge automotive students in their SkillsUSA competitions, which support career and technical education in the nation’s classrooms.

Blue Ridge Community College hosts Car and Trade Show; Free to the public Special to the Times-News/BRCC Start your engines, because the 16th annual Benefit Car and Trade Show is taking place Saturday, June 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Henderson County campus of Blue Ridge Community College.  Hosted by the Great Smoky Mountains Region of Antique Automobile Club of America, the event is always a strong draw for regional car enthusiasts, but also draws a significant amount of families interested in seeing the unique cars featured.  The car show is sponsored by AACA, SkillsUSA and Blue Ridge Community College. It is open to all makes and models of vehicles, including 2-, 3-, 4-, or 18-wheelers with door prizes. Vendors and dealers should call to reserve their car’s spot in advance. 

Eagle Self Storage looking to open fourth location

Eagle Self Storage is looking to open a fourth location in Henderson County. A neighborhood compatibility meeting was held Monday to get public input on the proposed development for 2310 Asheville Highway in Hendersonville, near Advance Auto Parts and Stan s Electronics. There were no comments or questions from the public during the meeting. Seven buildings are proposed for the 7.4-acre site that will total 99,330 square feet and house regular storage units as well as units large enough for RVs. The zoning application states the new facility will be a visually attractive and orderly development. The first Eagle Self Storage facility, on Spartanburg Highway in East Flat Rock, opened 16 years ago. The other facilities are located on South Allen Road in Flat Rock and Airport Road in Hendersonville.
