South Garner overcame an early deficit in an dominant win over Enloe on Thursday night. The Titans erased an 8-0 first quarter deficit en route to a 45-8 win.
Antonio King is entering his first year as the head coach at South Garner, but he comes with a state championship and college coaching experience on his resume. King said he is excited about what he has seen from the team so far during the preseason.

Garner, N.C. In the midst of heavy rain and on a muddy field, Friday s season opener between Holly Springs and South Garner was sloppy at times plagued with turnovers and penalties.
Despite a flurry of penalties in the second half hurting field position and killing drives, No. 25 Holly Springs was able to escape South Garner with a 20-6 win.
After a scoreless first quarter, Holly Springs put points on the board in the second quarter. Quarterback Brock Willis connected with Dylan Waskey for the first touchdown of the game to put Holly Springs up 7-0 with 10:51 left in the second quarter.
Holly Springs opened the spring season with a 20-6 win at South Garner in a SWAC conference game. Senior running back Derek Coombs scored two touchdowns for the Golden Hawks.
