Sedalia Police Reports For April 12, 2021

On the evening of April 6th, Officers responded to the 1000 block of East 16th Street in reference to a disturbance. During the investigation, Officers located marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Maylyn D. Pozenel, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Early Saturday morning, Officers responded to the Wendy s restaurant, 1301 South Limit, for a report of leaving the scene of an accident. The suspect tried to drive a UHaul truck through the drive thru and collided with the overhead awning before leaving the scene.
Sedalia Police Reports For March 15, 2021

Last Thursday afternoon, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East 3rd Street and South Lafayette Avenue, due to the vehicle having expired license plates that did not match the vehicle it was on. In the course of the stop, Officers were advised by Dispatch that the driver had a revoked license. Melissa L. Dorsey, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released for Driving While Revoked.
Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for an accident report. Lewis L. Jackson reported that the suspect vehicle backed into his vehicle three times before leaving the scene.
Sedalia Police Reports For February 25, 2021

Sunday afternoon, Officers conducted a vehicle stop on Tiger Pride Boulevard and South Limit for an improper turn. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving without an operator s license and transported to the Sedalia Police department. Antonio Hernandez Marquez, 37, of Sedalia, was booked and released with a court date.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of East 7th in regard to a hit and run accident Sunday afternoon. Hank J. Salmons Jr. told Officers that the vehicle was last seen without damage the previous evening. The damage was noticed Sunday afternoon. Salmons stated the damage would cost at least $1,000 to repair and he would like to press charges.
Sedalia Police Reports For February 22, 2021

Last Thursday morning, Sedalia Police were notified of a sex crime between juveniles that occurred in the 2400 block of South Kentucky. The case was investigated, and no charges are being sought.

Sunday morning, Officers responded in the area of North Osage and West Pettis for possible gun shots. Upon arrival, Officers were not able to find a victim at the scene and there were no witnesses willing to identify. The Bothwell Emergency Room reported a gunshot wound to a subject that was admitted there. Officers identified the victim, Marquoi D. Staten, who was medically stable, and he wished to pursue charges.
Sedalia Police Reports For December 21, 2020

On the night of December 18th, Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a registration violation. At the time of the stop, an occupant of the vehicle fled on foot and the Officer gave chase. The suspect, Aaron Williams, 34, was taken into custody a short distance later without incident. Officers retraced the steps of the chase and located a firearm that is believed to have been thrown down by Williams when he fled. K9 Charlie was deployed around the vehicle, and provided a positive presence of illegal drugs within the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, in a quantity that would be indicative of illegal drug distribution. Further investigation revealed a room the subjects were known to be frequenting at Motel 6. A search warrant was obtained to search it for items related to illegal drug
