Reagan earned the opening game in the NCHSAA 4A baseball state championship series by taking down Fuquay-Varina, 7-0, at Burlington Athletic Stadium. The Raiders were assisted to victory by an impressive complete game performance from junior right-handed pitcher Carter Boyd, which also was a no-hitter. Boyd fanned 11 opposing batters on Friday.

Holly Springs, N.C. It took two weather delays and a neutral site game, but the Middle Creek Mustangs earned a win over the Holly Springs Golden Hawks on Thursday night to lock up second place in the SWAC.
Senior catcher Jonah Oster s crushed two-run home run to left field in the bottom of the sixth inning lifted the Mustangs to a 5-3 win and a secured spot in the 4A state playoffs.
Holly Springs broke through in the top of the first inning with an RBI hit from Brock Wills that made it 1-0 early.
Fuquay-Varina senior pitcher and UNC-Wilmington recruit Cyle Phelan had a moment to catch up with HighSchoolOT reporter Zack Adams following the Bengals' 8-1 victory at Holly Springs on Thursday. Fuquay has a 7-2 record and both losses came against Apex Friendship in league play.

The Rolesville Rams made quick work of the Holly Springs Golden Hawks at home on Friday night in the first round of the NCHSAA 4AA state football playoffs.
Wide receiver Cyrus Rogers was involved from the opening kick-off, which he took all the way to the Holly Springs 31-yard line.
From there, Rogers found the end zone as star quarterback Byrum Brown found him for a 21-yard touchdown pass.
On the ensuing Holly Springs drive, Damon Burton came up with a sack for Rolesville on third down which forced the Golden Hawks to punt.
