While Memorial Day was accompanied by an abnormal morning chill for this time of year, the skies were otherwise clear and bright as South Central hosted the semifinals for the Indiana High School Athletic Association Class 1A Baseball Sectional 61.

In 2014, the iPhone 6 had just been released and Barack Obama was president. Until last Tuesday night, it also was the same year South Central last beat Lanesville on the baseball diamond.
A five-run inning in the top of the eighth pushed South Central past the Eagles, 11-6, in a wild affair at Ed Jaegers Memorial Field. At one point, Lanesville led 5-0 before the visitors’ extra-inning rally.
