Storm unleashes landslides, power outages in region
Both West Burnside and eastbound I-84 are closed Wednesday morning as many residents lose power.
Landslides closed major roads in the Portland region as thousands of residents were without power because of a major overnight storm.
In Portland, a significant landslide closed West Burnside near Southwest Barnes Road, Portland Fire & Rescue tweeted late Tuesday night.
Officials said the landslide at the Pedestrian Bridge east of Barnes brought trees and power lines down in the area and knocked power out from Northwest 21st Avenue to the west.
The closure is expected to last for many hours.
