BYU study: Black Latter-day Saints find joy in their faith, along with 'racism and isolation'
Dozens of authors, leaders, scholars and interviewees were part of a recent Brigham Young University study on the Black experience in a predominantly white church. Published last month, the research analyzed public accounts of Black members and found they experienced both positive spiritual joy, but also “racism and isolation.”
