A large trans-equatorial coronal hole that has been observed on the Sun, which is spewing high-speed solar wind.

The sun exploded with a massive flare that lasted over eight hours. The massive energy hurtling from the sun led to radio blackouts over Japan and southeast Asia.

A solar storm that reaches as far out from the Sun as four entire Earths was discovered by telescope by an amateur photographer.

On April 30, American space agency NASA managed to capture an image of a solar flare using its Solar Dynamics Observatory and posted the picture on its Instagram handle.

More blackouts? After Earth escapes massive solar flare, NASA issues warning on Sun blasts - Soon after the massive solar flare a few days back, NASA issued a warning about more blasts from the Sun coming towards the planet soon.

While a solar flare from the Earth-facing sunspot caused a shortwave radio blackout over southeast Asia and Australia, the coronal mass ejection will miss Earth.

The sun has exploded again and the ionosphere over India is going through perturbations. The plasma could lead to a strong radio blackout.

There is a strong ionospheric perturbation is ongoing over India, South East Asia and the Asia-Pacific regions, according to scientists, which has caused the flare

Solar flares are intense bursts of energy that may disrupt radio communications, electrical grids, and navigational signals, as well as endanger spacecraft and astronauts.

American space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has said that a geomagnetic storm, triggered by a high-intensity Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) on the Sun, is expected to hit the Earth on Thursday.
