Le milliardaire Richard Branson prévoit d aller dans l espace dès le 11 juillet, avant Bezos le 02 juillet 2021 à 01h00 par AFP Le milliardaire britannique Richard Branson ambitionne de se rendre dans l espace à bord du vaisseau de la société Virgin Galactic, qu il a fondée, dès le 11 juillet, a déclaré jeudi l entreprise. Si ce calendrier est respecté, il battrait ainsi de peu le fondateur d Amazon Jeff Bezos, qui a lui annoncé qu il irait dans l espace le 20 juillet, à bord d une fusée de sa propre société, Blue Origin. La compétition fait rage entre les deux hommes, qui ont tous les deux créé des entreprises positionnées sur le secteur du tourisme spatial, avec des vols suborbitaux courts.

Virgin Galactic s Richard Branson to visit space before Bezos

Print Virgin Galactic’s Richard Branson is aiming to beat fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos into space by nine days. Branson’s company announced Thursday that its next test flight will be as soon as July 11 and that its founder will be among the six people on board, all company employees. The winged rocket ship will soar from New Mexico its first time carrying a full crew. Bezos, meanwhile, plans to blast into space from West Texas on July 20, the 52nd anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. He’ll be on the first crewed flight of a Blue Origin rocket, accompanied by his brother, a female aerospace pioneer and the winner of a $28-million charity auction.
