NASA is shifting the way the Hubble Space Telescope points. The change is a work-around for a piece of hardware that's become intolerably glitchy. Officials say Hubble will continue to do 'ground breaking science,' for about another decade.

To what transmit doing? >> its a little bit of cold warrior ish sort of speed. >> well, we want the rocket fuel, so we need to get there first. >> its more than just rocket water. its its ice thick. you could turn into atmosphere debris, the rocket fuel it can eat, can study the early solar system, and its a very large area. so the fact i dont think china is going to land there were troops and say stay out. that said, were an observable post pre cold war era and hours either competition, its act...

Earth, would we have schreiber, so get nine on cnn blows captioning is brought to you by page publishing. if youve written a book, will publish it for you. >> have you written a book page? publishing can help you through the process. we cut through the confusion of the publishing world to make it easy for you call 805, 630741 all right. >> and just a few hours, nasa and boeing will attempt to launch the starliner crewed test flight for a third time after two failures in the last week, saturdays ...

Alliance to fix that pesky ground computer the two astronauts have been enjoying some, some quality time in quarantine. butch actually went fishing yesterday, sunny williams comes, went for a run on a beach and so thats it are kind of enjoying. their final few minutes on earth before hopefully lifting off today, kate, hopefully third times the charm. and if it does lift off today from the kennedy space the center and cape canaveral space force station, then these two astronauts are going to spen...

>> nasa and in spaceflight, were all about redundancy. so spacex has been flying for nearly three years. flying astronauts to the international space station. boeing was actually supposed to get there first, but theyve through their their missteps and problems, they havent didnt get there first and havent been able to get there yet. hopefully todays the de where we will have two sources to american sources of getting astronauts to and from the iss. so the idea is redundancy. nasa definitely want...

Spacex fails fast, it will blow up a rocket and fix it and launch a new one a few weeks later. that fail fast philosophy like you see in silicon valley has worked really well for them. >> dana: its dana perino. since they spend days at the international space station to tell people in america, success story for all of us, taxpayers helped pay for this. what do we get out of that? what sort of things could they learn and where do we go from here and the payoff on the return on investment for amer...

Decade in the making this is really the beginning of nasas dream. theme of making commercial spaceflight a reality and not just a reality was spacex, but with multiple providers, they want that redundancy. they want the ability lead for nasa astronauts to have some options in case something goes wrong with one of those other spacecrafts. so what were seeing right now, everything looking really good, but we still have some critical moments ahead and i just want to watch keith through what were ab...

The iss, but cargo as well. so right now, we are past max q, thats the point of when the most stress is placed on the rocket. so a huge milestone there. and you can apparently see the entire us coast from the rocket. i dont have a good display of it right in front of me, allison, but so far this is looking really, really good. and so for boeing, this is spaceflight that they really needed to go successfully. they needed to prove that they could compete with elon musks base x. and this is also ju...

Prelaunch speech speeches. their advisers have closed and they are now ready for liftoff. if all goes according to plan they will be spending eight days aboard the international space station and allison, the reason this is so critical is because nasa wants redundancy. nasa does not want to be dependent strictly on spacex to get its astronauts to the international space station, nor does it want to be reliant upon the russian soyuz rockets to get its astronauts up there. so this is about having ...

Taken them, so theyre now four years behind spacex. i think now that they have gotten this flight off, i agree with derrick, this was a critical mission not just for nasa, but for boeing to demonstrate, to give them confidence to demonstrate they have the capability to do this. were far from complete. we have got to get off the centar, do some tests on the cst 100 over the next day and tomorrow hopefully well have a perfect docking, spend eight days on the international space station and then un...
