i think one of the interesting questions going forward now is now that the bar has been set for a cabinet secretary who did all this prior travel to lose his job, what does that mean for the other white house officials who have been using private travel? will the same standard be applied to them. mee cham, those other cabinet officials who have been cited, steve mnuchin, treasury secretary, scott pruitt, the eps administrator, ryan zinc key, david shulkin. ryan zinc key made a speak today. he called it a little bit of b.s. yeah, it s always b.s. until it isn t, right. and i think president trump has decided that he s the only person who can be a distraction in trump s washington. he doesn t like other people taking up that oxygen, and i think that if anything, it s a fairly good sign that price went. i must admit i m a little
here tonight, erin. thank you very much. as we said the storm is still continuing. we ve got these deadly storm surges in jacksonville, historic flooding. caley is there. this has people scrambling throughout the day. reporter: it did. it was one of the biggest surprises that hurricane irma brought to florida when the waters of the st. john s river started rolling up right here down into the streets of downtown jacksonville. record levels were being broken at every point in the day. at the water s peak today, waters were 5 1/2 feet above what they typically are. i wouldn t have dared hours ago to be standing where i am now. this is one of the many entry points where you can see the water of this river lapping up and heading into downtown. since that high tide peaks, the waters have receded some. you can see the visual of the damage here.
what the president announced today will impact what you see as the problem there. reporter: well, the president said he does not want endless wars, doesn t support endless wars, but america s longest war has just gotten longer. the plan was to start quite soon off-ramping soldiers, to start drawing down from 10,000. instead, we re going to keep 10,000 troops there almost through the end of 2016. and then only go down to 5,500 troops after that. a significant change in policy. and i think when you listened to the president speak today, you really need to think about iraq because what happened in iraq was the u.s. drew down to that what they like to call embassy-level security, and quickly the iraqi government collapsed. the iraqi security forces collapsed, in some cases
