Farmers protests: Are young Bollywood celebrities finally finding a voice?

Even if Bollywood superstar Salman Khan didn’t live up to the title of his seminal blockbuster ‘Dabangg’ (meaning ‘Fearless’), his co-star Sonakshi Sinha, who played a fierce village belle in the film, seems to be making up for her colleague’s perceived apathy in real life. Rihanna, the fourth most followed celebrity on Twitter with over 100 million followers, took to the microblogging site on Tuesday and shared a CNN news article headlined, India cuts internet around New Delhi as protesting farmers clash with police. Why aren t we talking about this? #FarmersProtest, Rihanna wrote on Tuesday.
