despite a lot of questions, guy. it seemed like dr. jackson had an answer for every one that this president is fit for office and he said fit for this term and probably if he got elected again another term. and dr. jackson is not some hack. is a very well regarded professional who has credibility. so i have always thought that this attack about the president s mental fitness was really a disservice to people who are trying to criticize him in a way that s reasonable. bret: let s point out that dr. jackson was george w. bush s physician. he was president obama s physician. and chose as a family physician for both 43 and 44. when we are talking about fitness to me it s not about cognition. it s about character and other things. that has always been the case. mental fitness is a different question from overall moral fitness perhaps for the office or for a high office like this. the president scored perfectly on his cognitive
he scored 30 out of 30. in terms of the possibility of early dementia or problems thinking or even behavioral problems, dr. jackson should have been able to put that to rest. bret: the questions were all over the board. for example, how could he eat mcdonald s and all he eats and have such great cardiac response. the doctor saying he has great genes. a lot of the questioning dealt with his mental stability and pointing out this was not a psychiatric test. it was a cognitive test. can you explain the difference? a cognitive test means thinking ability, how quick you can come to thoughts, spatial reasoning, problem solving. behavioral would be if somebody says something that seems outlandish are out of line or some kind of personality proble problem. dr. jackson said i will put my repetition of time spent with him on that issue and say he
test. good for him. maybe we can put aside this silliness and address what he is doing, what he is saying and the outcomes of his policies. what a novel thought. bret: i have covered the white house. i have not seen a briefing like. this no. bret: this level of detail and them questions. the president told him stay out there until every one is answered. it was really something. not only has he served these other presidents he gets really high marks from these previous administrations. is he a well-loved figure. bret: dr. jackson. yes, dr. jackson it would be a good thing for democrats if this was off the table. sure talk about his character and behavior if you want to, the whole argument about whether he is mentally deranged or unfit, let s just finish with that because i don t think it gets anybody anywhere. and it needs put to bed. bret: it seems like this closes that door. among rational people it does. i don t think it s going to end the crazy talk that we have heard.
doesn t believe he has a behavioral problem. he s not a psychiatrist but in an emergency room, those physicians are trained. in terms of the heart issue, it s possible not to exercise, but we saw with president bush and obama, extensive exercise programs. with low blood pressure, genetics, the fact that he s taking a cholesterol-lowering drug and the fact that he doesn t smoke and drink, the fact that he scored so well on heart tests was extraordinary. it s of note that he needs to lower that cholesterol further. he s got to take more of a cholesterol-lowering drug and he has to lose weight. he has to improve his diet and exercise. i think all of those were good prescriptions. i would add vitamin d. i think his vitamin d level was low and i hope dr. jackson prescribes that as well. bret: this closes the door and questions about cognitive ability, in your mind? cigar think it does. i ve seen the test. it s an extensive test. for a 71-year-old to score
wants me apparent two, as of friday, i was pretty excited about getting up here and talking about his health. speaker jackson revealed president trump is overweight, bmi around 30, the edge of obesity. his cholesterol is a bit high. jackson revealed that a lifetime of abstention from alcohol and tobacco is made the president s cardiac health something to behold. great findings across the board with the one that stands out to me is his cardiac health. it s excellent. for an hour, jackson held court, answering questions that sometimes veered into whether twitter was good for the president s health. on a far more serious topic, jackson said president trump asked him specifically to administer a cognitive tests, and answer to critics who say the president does not possess the mental stability to hold office. the president s score: perfect. screens for cognitive issues, alzheimer s and those things. the fact that the president got 30 out of 30 on that exam, i think there is no indicat
