Parliament will debate for the second time the item of the Prime Minister’s election on May 10
Pursuant to Article 140.3 of the constitutional law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, the item of the Prime Minister’s election will be debated on May 10, at 12:00 at the special sitting of the National Assembly be convened by force of law, the statement issued by the Speaker of the Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan said.
To note, the parliament debated the item on May 3 and did not elect Nikol Pashinyan in the post of the Prime Minister with 1 for, 3 against and 75 abstained vote s. To remind, Pashinyan announced his resignation on Sunday to pave the way for the snap parliamentary elections slated for 20 June. The son-in-law of ex-President Serzh Sargsyan, former Armenian Ambassador to the Vatican Mikael Minasyan, during a live broadcast on Facebook, claimed the Speaker of the Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan is a double agent for the National Security Service of Armenia.
He stated that the head of the National Assembly of Armenia was first recruited by the Turkish special services. Then the National Security Service of Armenia, having clarified this fact, allegedly offered Ararat Mirzoyan either to work as a double agent, or to go on trial for treason.
The Speaker of the Parliament called Minasyan’s accusation “another delirium”, the National Security Service also denied the veracity of the information.

Yesterday the Prime Minister of Armenia led a mourning procession to the Yerablur military cemetery in memory of those killed in the second Karabakh war. Nikol Pashinyan was joined by Speaker of the Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan and some parliamentarians.
