Frank Eaton was the fastest gun in the West and the real-life inspiration for OSU’s Pistol Pete, but to Benny West and the people of Perkins he was a friend and the old-time Cowboy with all the tall tales. West couldnt have imagined that Eaton would come to define the trailblazing identity of his alma mater.

Daysia Blackwell was like a lot of 15-year-olds in Duncan, Oklahoma – in need of a job to pay for after-school activities. The local Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy store hired her on, but looking back, Blackwell ended up getting a whole lot more than just a paycheck.
