Flavor: fresh peach, white mulberry, fleshed out by excellent tartness; restrained oak
Notes: Even with climate change and its effect on so much of California wine country, the Russian River Valley appellation continues to be an oasis for makers of northern grapes such as pinot noir and chardonnay. An excellent dry white, priced accordingly.

Flavor: deeply colored; concentrated mix of wild mushrooms and dark cane fruit; amazingly balanced for such a big wine (14.5% alcohol)
Notes: Incredibly powerful at any price especially such a low one this blend of 70% red grenache and 30% monastrell hails from Spain’s Almansa appellation, and is certain to hold up to the strongest foods.
