Fire forces family to evacuate home, causes $185K in damage, fire officials say Fire was called in around 10 p.m. at home in 25600 of Crimson Beauty Updated:  Tags:  SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio family safely escaped a late-night two-story house fire in the city’s Northside , but the fire caused extensive damage to their home, fire officials said Wednesday. The fire was called in around 10 p.m. at a home in 25600 block of Crimson Beauty, not far from Overlook Parkway and Highway 281 in Timberwood Park. Firefighters said they arrived to find flames coming from the second level of the two-story home. Initial reports were that a child was trapped inside, but when they arrived everyone including the pets had made it safely out, fire officials said.

10 added to Comal County COVID death toll

Comal County’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 178 on Wednesday morning as county health officials reported an additional 10 deaths.  County officials reported the deaths of a New Braunfels man in his 50s who died Dec. 18 at a local hospital, a New Braunfels man in his 70s who died Dec. 20 at a San Antonio hospital, a New Braunfels man in his 70s who died Dec. 23 at home, a Canyon Lake man his in 60s who died Christmas Day at a San Antonio hospital and a Spring Branch woman in her 60s who died Dec. 27 at a San Antonio hospital. Officials also reported the deaths of a New Braunfels woman in her 60s who died Dec. 28 at New Braunfels hospital, a Canyon Lake woman in her 60s who died Dec. 29 in New Braunfels, a New Braunfels man in his 90s who died Jan. 4 in New Braunfels, a New Braunfels woman in her 80s who died Jan. 4 in New Braunfels and a New Braunfels woman in her 80s who died on Jan. 2. in New Braunfels.

Houston Health Department, partners announce free COVID-19 testing schedule for week of January 4 January 3, 2021 HOUSTON - The Houston Health Department and its agency partners are announcing the schedule for sites offering free COVID-19 tests the week of January 4, 2020. Twenty-four FREE+FAST+SAFE testing sites across Houston are on the schedule for the week. The Aldine area will benefit from two COVID-19 testing sites set up this week by the Houston Health Department and Harris County Public Health. The zip code 77037 within Aldine remains among the 15 Houston zip codes with the highest COVID-19 positivity rate. The two drive-thru sites and their hours of operation are:
