St. Mike’s signs on to U.S. bishops’ statement May 28, 2021
The University of St. Michael’s College has become the first Canadian Catholic college to sign onto a statement in support of at-risk LGBT youth.
By a unanimous vote of the St. Michael’s Collegium executive committee, the college put its name alongside 14 U.S. bishops and more than a dozen Catholic colleges to the “God Is On Your Side” statement, which bishops have promoted with the help of the Tyler Clementi Foundation.
The statement “is entirely in keeping with our core values at St. Michael’s,” said university president David Sylvester in a release. “We affirm and respect the intrinsic value of each person and we treat everyone in a fair and equitable manner.”

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) Effective Saturday, all states will be exempt from Maine’s COVID-19 travel requirements.

The policy change is based on a successful travel season last summer where there was little transmission of COVID-19 from visitors to Maine. The introduction of vaccines also played a role in the decision, he said.
If states see a spike in cases of highly contagious COVID-19 variants, Maine will reinstate quarantine and testing requirements, Shah said.

The little GPS unit that sits into a pocket on the upper back of rugby players’ jerseys has clocked the 21-year-old Leinster lock moving at just over 10 metres per second during a game.
To put that in context, the average max speed for a wing at the 2019 World Cup was 9.2 metres per second, and it’s no exaggeration to say that Baird – who made his Ireland debut against Italy in the Six Nations last weekend – is one of the quickest forwar
