More outdoor seating is coming to local restaurants starting next week as pilot patio program launched by District 1 Councilman Roberto C. Treviño s office begins.
The Eat on the Street initiative aims to provide support to businesses looking to expand their outdoor capacity, Treviño said. The councilman said he s working with the World Heritage Office and the city s public works department since last summer to set up barricades along streets typically used for parking in front of restaurants.
