A public hearing regarding local solar farm regulations has been set for Monday, July 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the Tangipahoa Parish Government Building in Amite.
With a 9-1 vote, Tangipahoa Parish Council members agreed Monday to introduce the development regulation committeeâs proposed guidelines that, if adopted at the next meeting, will have to be followed to develop local property into commercial solar farms.
Councilwoman Kim Coates thanked everyone for the public input the committee received, as well as industry representatives for their participation.
Councilman Carlo Bruno cast the sole no vote. He commended everyone for the work they put into this but stressed that there are matters in it that he does not agree with.
