A suspect has been taken into custody after being shot during a standoff with Greensboro police.

Liberian police authorities have disrobed 16 senior and junior officers, accusing them of aiding and abetting the alleged escape from the investigation of Queen Johnson, a supporter of the opposition Unity Party (UP).

Multiple Family Dollar stores and a Target in Charlotte were among the stores fined for price-scanning errors that overcharged customers at checkout.

RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Standards Division has collected fines from 18 stores in 12 counties because of excessive price-scanner errors.

Stores in 12 counties across the state had “excessive” price scanner errors. Family Dollar was the worst offender.

Regionally, there were stores fined in Burke County, Cabarrus County, Forsyth County (three stores), Franklin County, Guilford County, Mecklenburg County (three stores), Montgomery County and Stanly County.
