Class VI kid thrashed in Delhi school for not bringing book, teacher arrested

A teacher at a Delhi school has been arrested and charged with assault after reportedly slapping and grabbing the neck of an 11-year-old student in class VI for failing to bring his textbook. A complaint was filed by the father of the victim after his son was admitted to hospital on 12 August, following the incident on 7 August.

Government to pay fee of empanelled mediators in consumer cases

About Rs 1,000 per case subject to a maximum of Rs 3,000 regardless of the number of connected cases will be paid to mediate in state commissions. In case of failed mediation, about Rs 500 and 1,000 per case will be paid to a mediator in district and state commissions, respectively. The fee will be paid from the interest accrued on the Consumer Welfare (Corpus) Fund, established with co-contribution from the State and the Department of Consumer Affairs.
