COLUMBUS Neighbors across the country will soon have an exciting opportunity to help change their communities for the better through State Farm Neighborhood Assist®. The program awards $25,000 grants to 40 nonprofit organizations to help fund neighborhood improvement projects.
According to a recent State Farm research study, one-quarter of respondents say that they are “extremely” or “very” involved in trying to improve their neighborhood and six-in-ten are trying to improve their neighborhood in some capacity.
State Farm Neighborhood Assist can be a catalyst for that change.

State Farm announces $25K grant program to Help Communities and Neighborhood Causes
Forty causes will each win a $25,000 grant to assist their neighborhoods
Press release Anthony Cammon, agent for State Farm, has announced that State Farm Neighborhood Assist® is back for its 10th year in 2021. “Grant programs that address community needs, like Neighborhood Assist, are more important than ever,” Cammon said. “This program is all about building stronger neighborhoods together.” This past year was like no other in recent history, and $25,000 could make a big impact at a time when non-profits and communities are still getting back on their feet.

Free Licking County Transit rides available to vaccine clinics
Licking County Transit Board received grant funding from the Ohio Department of Transportation to provide free transportation to and from all vaccine clinics in Licking County.
Community members can call Transit to request service to a vaccine clinic, letting the dispatcher know it s for a COVID-19 vaccine. To schedule a ride, call 740-670-5185 and press 1 or call 1-800-350-7071.
How to Safely Dispose of Unused Medication at Home
This Saturday is recognized as National Drug Take Back Day in which the Licking County Health Department (LCHD) and community partners aim to educate residents on proper disposal methods of unwanted, unused, or expired prescription medication. In addition, we remind the public where safe and convenient prescription medication drop boxes are located in Licking County.
Nonprofit organizations can start working on grant applications for this summer’s State Farm Neighborhood Assist program. Each year, it awards $25,000 grants to 40 nonprofits across the country to help fund neighborhood improvement projects.
According to a news release, Colorado has had four winners in the past four years: Fashion FUNdamentals: STEM Enrichment for Girls, Food For Thought, STEM Robotics for Everyone and Weld Food Bank.
Submissions open June 2 and close when 2,000 entries are submitted. Last year, the release states that the limit was reached in less than 45 minutes. Community members can then vote 10 times a day on finalists from Aug. 18-27. Winners that received the most votes will be announced Sept. 29
