BLM announces new state fire management officer SALT LAKE CITY The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is pleased to announce the selection of Chris Delaney as the new State Fire Management Officer for BLM Utah. Delaney has previously served as Deputy State Fire Management Officer since 2012.   Delaney started his firefighting career in 1995, working for a municipal fire department before transitioning to the BLM in 1997. In his career with the BLM, he has worked in multiple states, on numerous resource types (Engine, Hotshots, Helitack), and at all levels of the BLM Fire organization throughout his career.  “Chris brings over 25 years of fire experience to the position, and he has demonstrated leadership and a dedication for fire prevention and firefighter safety with BLM Utah for nearly 10 years,”
