The veto that the state could exercise previously on most Union laws has ended.

The Supreme Court has referred the Delhi governments plea, which challenges the Centres ordinance, regarding the Delhi Services issue to a five-judge constitution bench. The bench will examine whether Parliament can "abrogate the constitutional principles of governance" for the Delhi government by creating a law to take control of services away from it.
