Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe invites the public to their meeting on Wednesday, March 27 when they host a program about Womens Rights. In honor of International Womens Day, Club President Laurie Ault will be the speaker. The previous program with a George and Ella Whittell history program has been postponed.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Literacy at a young age is important, and studies show that children exposed to reading before preschool tend to develop larger vocabularies and are more likely to succeed during their formal education. If a child is not proficient in reading by 3rd grade, they are at a higher risk of not graduating from high school.

Tahoe Elite Cheer Team is now accepting sign-ups for the next cheerleading season. This is their second season, following up on their very successful inaugural competitions. Ages 4-18 are welcome and no experience is necessary. Learn Competitive Cheer, Dance, Gymnastics, and Stunts.

SUNDAY UPDATE: Per a spokesman for the family, the 18-year-old victim has undergone multiple surgeries for his injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. The family is grateful for the prayers and condolences from the community however wishes for privacy to process this tragic event.

Carol was born in Eugene (Lane County), Oregon, to Wayne Mac Adam and Mary (Sissler) Mac Adam on March 5, 1937. Carol’s identical twin sister, Eleanor Proctor, predeceased Carol in July, 2007, as did Jeanette Mac Adam, an older sister, who passed in 2019.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A power outage was reported for a section of the South Shore Monday morning, just before 10 a.m. At this time, Liberty is reporting 3814 customers without electricity. It is affecting people along Elks Club to the Y in Meyers/South Lake Tahoe. The cause of the unplanned outage is unknown at this time.
