STATELINE, Nev. — The Tahoe Chamber has named the finalists for this years Blue Ribbon Awards which recognize businesses and individuals who have made significant contributions to the South Tahoe community. The awards ceremony is on Thursday, May 16, at the Tahoe Blue Event Center.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The construction of Phase I of the Tahoe Valley Stormwater and Greenbelt Improvement Project is set to resume on Monday, May 6, 2024. Phase 1 construction activities will include stormwater collection, conveyance, and treatment infrastructure installation within the Tahoe Valley area.

FRIDAY Update: The Advisory has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning from 11 a.m. Saturday to 8 am. Sunday. Expect heavy snow above 5000 feet. Snow accumulations up to 5 to 8 inches around the Lake Tahoe Basin, 8 to 12 inches over higher Sierra passes, and up to 12 to 20 inches of snow across the Sierra Crest above 7000 feet.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Multiple crews responded to a wildfire on the north end of Fallen Leaf Lake Friday evening.

Douglas Wayne Kixmiller, affectionately known as Doug, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023. He was a devoted son, brother, father, uncle, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Doug was the epitome of a family man and a loyal friend.

RENO — January is National Radon Action Month, and University of Nevada, Reno Extension’s Radon Education Program is offering free short-term radon test kits to Nevadans from Jan. 1 through Feb. 29. Radon test kits are available at Extension offices and partnering locations, as well as at free presentations, statewide.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The new Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe’s (BGCLT) soccer teams competed at the Comstock Tournament last weekend and came away with a championship crown. The Comstock Shootout is Nevadas oldest soccer tournament, located in Carson City, Nevada. Divisions from U10 through U14 play in a variety of games for the trophy.
