Durham dog owner: Pets aren t out of control at Wagon Hill Farm
DURHAM Police had to turn away 30 to 40 cars over the weekend from entering Wagon Hill Farm “because the parking lot was overcrowded,” Town Administrator Todd Selig said.
The town-owned farm was a popular location for both sledders and dog owners over the weekend, Selig said, drawing the overflow crowd.
Police assigned one officer to the farm on Sunday to deal with complaints town officials have been receiving about dogs being off leash during hours when leashes are required, dogs fighting and general overcrowding.
Police determined one officer on duty at Wagon Hill Farm on the weekends was “not sufficient,” Selig said.
