Doing business with huawei. This is just as the chinese tech giant is due to be hit with a full ban on working with us firms. So how did we get to this point . In may this year huawei was placed on the us entity list, effectively banning american firms from doing business with huawei because of National Security concerns. The move barred us companies, including google, intel and qualcomm, from working with huawei. But a few days later the us temporarily eased some of the restrictions for instance, allowing google to send through security updates for its android operating system. But this temporary exemption is due to end. There had been reports the us might extend the exemption, but President Trump cast doubt on that, saying he dosnt want american firms to do business with huawei.
