Tuesday shortly after noon the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle accident at US 31 and south Michigan Road in the southbound lanes with the caller stating there was entrapment.
As Deputy Neal Wallace arrived on the scene Midflight was requested to respond to the Plymouth Airport.
During the investigation into the crash it was stated in the report that 68 year old Laura Melton of Scottsboro, Alabama driving the Hyundai Sonata was traveling southbound in the passing lane of US 31.
The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox identified as 71 year old Stephen Trago of Plymouth was exiting Michigan Road traveling eastbound across the south lanes of US 31 to travel northbound on US 31 when he failed to yield to Melton’s oncoming vehicle.

It happened on U.S. 31 Tuesday around noon, between Plymouth and Argos.
According to police, an SUV was trying to turn onto U.S. 31 from Michigan Road when it pulled into the path of another car.
The driver of the SUV, 71-year-old Stephen Trago, of Plymouth, was flown to the hospital but later died. His passenger and the driver of the other car were taken to the hospital with injuries that weren t life-threatening. Share this article:
