HOUSTON A Harris County man claims a Cadillac dealership accepted his downpayment for a custom vehicle and then sold the car to another customer.
Ali Mokaram filed a complaint April 28 in Harris County District Court against GPI TX-HGM Inc., doing business as Sterling McCall Cadillac, Group 1 Automotive, David Taylor Motors Inc., and Jessie Ledet alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act and fraud.
According to his complaint, Mokaram made a down payment to the defendants for a custom Cadillac Escalade on July 13, 2020. He alleges that he was later notified by the defendants that the specific vehicle he ordered had been sold. Mokaram claims the current market value for the vehicle is in excess of its MSRP and that the defendants sold the vehicle for a greater value then what was offered to him.
