ANGOLA â Despite neighbors speaking against a proposed development on the west side of C.R. 425W north of Orland Road, the Steuben County Plan Commission gave the primary plat approval, with several conditions to be met before the developer comes back for secondary approval.
The development, Bonebend Hollow, will be nine lots on approximately 18 acres of land that right now is mostly woods between Crooked and Jimmerson lakes.
âThe site is mostly wooded and we want to maintain that integrity as much as possible,â said Brett Miller of Miller Land Surveying on behalf of the property owners, Everett and Roxanne Bone and ERJ Holdings LLC.
FLINT â An encroachment variance was the best option that Steuben Lakes Regional Waste District could come up with for a Little Otter Lake property owner.
Superintendent Bryan Klein allowed property owner Theresa Steele to run her line from her grinder pump to the road on Steeleâs property at Lane 150 Little Otter Lake in rural Fremont.
Steeleâs request was to have the line run under her deck, which is on blocks, to the road.
âHer property is 70 to 80% wetlands,â Klein said during a meeting of the SLRWD Board of Trustees on Wednesday. âItâs difficult to really do anything here.â

SLRWD mordernises Waste District Wastewater Treatment Plant in Angola
SLRWD mordernises Waste District Wastewater Treatment Plant in Angola
Modified date:
The Steuben Lakes Regional Waste District (SLRWD) has modernised the Waste District Wastewater Treatment Plant in Angola. The SLRWD has installed new filters in the plant to improve its operation to 9,092.18 m3 per day.
The SLRWD has also equipped the plant with a “more efficient filtering system that is less sensitive to weather-related disturbances The new filter system installed at the Waste District’s wastewater treatment plant uses a fabric media suspended on large rotating discs. These allow the plant to filter and remove all solids from the wastewater that has been treated and is ready to leave the plant.
