Music City Bowl canceled due to Mizzou COVID cases

Transperfect Music City Bowl canceled due to Mizzou COVID cases Mizzou and Iowa game was scheduled for Wednesday and last updated 2020-12-27 23:10:50-05 NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Transperfect Music City Bowl has been canceled, after the University of Missouri pulled out due to a rise in COVID cases. The game between Mizzou and the University of Iowa was set to take place at Nissan Stadium this Wednesday, December 30. Mizzou announced Sunday afternoon that a increase in COVID-19 cases among athletes, coaches and staff over the eight days lead to the decision to pause all team activities through January 2. This eight-day uptick within our program is significant and has made it impossible for us to play in the bowl game, which I know comes as a disappointment to our student-athletes, coaches and fans, who were excited about the opportunity to play a great Iowa team in Nashville, Athletic Director Jim Sterk said in a press release.
