The 2021 Volunteer Jam: A Musical Salute to Charlie Daniels was originally scheduled for Feb. 22 at Bridgestone Arena, but has been moved to August 18.
“As much as we are disappointed that we have to move the Volunteer Jam, we appreciate the fans sticking with us,” Daniels’ longtime manager David Corlew said in a statement on Friday. “We want to make sure everyone stays safe.”
There is good news as Randy Travis, Chris Young, Michael W. Smith, Lorrie Morgan, Exile and Anthony Castagna were added to the lineup.

Volunteer Jam gets pushed back to August
Friday, January 29, 2021 – The 2021 Volunteer Jam: A Musical Salute to Charlie Daniels, previously scheduled for Feb. 22, was pushed back today to Aug. 18 at Nashville s Bridgestone Arena due to Covid. As much as we are disappointed that we have to move the Volunteer Jam, we appreciate the fans sticking with us, said Daniels longtime manager David Corlew. We want to make sure everyone stays safe.
Daniels died on July 6 at 83.
Six additional performers will join the Jam this August. Randy Travis, Chris Young, Michael W. Smith, Lorrie Morgan, Exile and rising Nashville star Anthony Castagna have been added to the previously announced lineup.
Located in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, Billy Bob’s Texas first opened its doors in 1981. The Kentucky House of Representatives has passed a bill that would allow businesses and schools to reopen during the coronavirus pandemic as long as they follow federal guidelines, even if that goes against Gov. Andy Beshear’s orders.
House Bill 1 still needs to pass out of the state Senate before it can become law. The Republican-led legislature could easily override a veto by Beshear if he were to do so.
Rep. Steve Rudy, a Republican from Paducah, said that more businesses and schools should be open and criticized the governor’s approach.
“We just want to know as a policy making branch, why in the world he’s doing this. The CDC is the gold standard, the CDC says schools should be open,” Rudy said.
